FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Specific questions should always go to one of our experienced Miami-Dade County plumbers, but here are the ones we hear most.

What causes clogged drains?

A mix of hair and soap, excess quilted toilet paper (it doesn’t break down as easily), garbage disposals that aren’t working properly, and any number of foreign objects (you wouldn’t believe some of the ones we’ve seen). Have an experienced plumber find the cause before you try over-the-counter remedies, which often make the problem worse.

How much will this plumbing job cost?

We can give you an accurate estimate after we’ve had a look at the problem. Quoting prices over the phone isn’t fair to our customers: companies that quote by phone often end up “finding” more work once they arrive. We prefer to shoot straight with you from the beginning.

Should I call a plumber for minor problems?

It’s up to you. If you have the tools and expertise, there’s nothing wrong with doing it yourself. If not, you could end up with a much bigger problem than you started with. Most people find it’s better to have a seasoned Dade County plumber handle even small jobs, done right the first time for a fair price.

What is backflow testing, and do I need it?

Backflow preventers stop contaminated water from entering your plumbing from outside sources. Most homes already have one; older homes that haven’t been updated may not. Testing should ideally be done annually. It’s required for most commercial buildings in Dade County and a good idea for homes too. More about backflow testing.
